VERNA tells about Practice of Construction of IT Infrastructure Management Systems in Large Ukrainian Companies

Experience of infrastructure management systems construction and upgrading obtained by the Company since 2004 was systematized and presented in VERNA's report at IDC conference. Samples of solutions introduction based on Microsoft technologies and products were analyzed including Active Directory and System Center 2007. Samples of VERNA projects developed for the companies of financial, industrial, retail sectors and holding structures illustrate IT Infrastructure life-cycle of large companies from technical and economic points of view.

In particular, considered IT audit project shows the way the team determined unevident customer's risks regarding IT and planned measures for their reduction. According to audit results the Customer validated and approved IT budget of 3.1 million UAH with 6 month development plan. It was also emphasized that Active Directory base technology implementation enabled not only to centralize infrastructure management but to plan its step-by-step development considering IT expenses as investments, not as risk costs.

Geographically distributed infrastructure optimization of one of the leading banks with network of 3000 PC in several regions. The solution allows to save 2.7 million UAH a year by means of IT systems management centralization.

An example of technical support of implemented solution for IT Infrastructure management based on Microsoft System Center 2007 was provided. The bank delegated IT Infrastructure risk operation and IT outsourcing and financial liability for service equality to VERNA. In this regard the bank's direct costs were reduced to 163 thousand UAH per year.

Many customers require proactive monitoring enabling to track preliminary alerts in IT system, predict and prevent problems before their occurrence”, - concluded Sergey Tishenko.
