Tun Pairam — the feast of the Great Milk — was celebrated in Khakassia

The “Tun Pairam” Khakassian folk feast was revived 30 years ago, this year it consisted of nine holiday sites. Sagay Valley held theatrical performances, spectacular ceremonies, competitions and exhibitions of decorative and applied art. Concert performances presented the artists of Khakassia, Khakassian pop song contest, and the creative teams of ethno-cultural centers of native minorities of Russia.

In addition, there were held the “Alyp Hys” national beauty and the “Kӱstigler”epic warrior contests and “Chiis pairamy” (“Table of Plenty”) ethnic cuisine tasting. The participants of sport playground showed their strength, agility and endurance in the competition in national sports, “Kӱres” wrestling and archery. Equestrian Competitions were the most spectacular.

“Tun Pairam” is a holiday that unites all the people of Khakassia. The feast of the “Great Milk” (“First Airan”) allows to most vividly imagine the national culture of the native people of the region.
