The outsourcing contract with OJSC PLUS BANK is valid since February 2008 and envisages servicing of about a half of 46 branches of PLUS BANK on the territory of Transcarpatian, Ivano-Frankovsk, Lvov and Ternopol districts. One of the main causes why the bank has employed a servicing contractor for outsourcing is cutting down expenses. A large number of departments in regional centers, as well as lack of IT personnel in these towns require from the bank substantial expenses for maintaining transport facilities, logistics and staff of IT specialists. Besides, as there was no necessary service support of the branch network, the bank has to bear the risks of loosing clients and income, in particular due to possible delays in servicing and account settling.
VERNA has proposed an alternative scheme of the PLUS Bank IT infrastructure support that minimizes expenses and risks. The customer has examined various versions of work as to the contract with different levels of service. The agreed conditions of the IT system servicing with the engagement of a contractor have turned out to be more acceptable and profitable than maintaining the bank’s own service department.
As estimates Vadim Kravchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of OJSC PLUS BANK, the main result of the work according to the outsourcing contract is the reduction of expenses for supporting the bank’s IT system with lowered business risks, thereat servicing the clients without delays: “After signing the outsourcing contract we are monthly saving on servicing the branch network about 20% of our budget. Besides, the contractor keeps the entire pool of equipment constantly ready for operation. This enables us to service our clients in a quality manner and complete settlement operations without delay”, – has noted Vadim Kravchuk.
Andrey Boyko, Director of VERNA thus explained the essence of the outsourcing contract: “Our task is to install, set up and maintain constant workability of the entire pool of office and computer equipment in the bank branches. The list of services contains the servicing of both delivered and already working at the customer equipment, organization of work places, installation of software, troubleshooting and repair of the equipment. Thus, PLUS BANK outsources to us the servicing of its branches, cutting down in this way the expenses and business risks”, - commented Andrey Boyko.
Taking into account the positive experience and achieved results, the works of IT outsourcing in 2009 can be widened due to covering other departments of OJSC PLUS BANK operating in 11 regions of Ukraine.
