Awards for the Winners of Lavrynovych & Partners’ First Scholarship Contest

First place and a prize of 5,000 hryvnias went to Pavlo Shovak, a student of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Second place with a prize of 3,000 hryvnias were taken by Iryna Bohdanova, a student of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Third place and a prize of 2,000 hryvnias went to Ruslan Scherbak, a student of the National University "Yaroslav the Wise Law Academy of Ukraine".

The prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners by Maksym Lavrynovych, Managing Partner of Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm, who also gave presents to the authors of the top ten selected papers.

The contest was aimed at the professional development of students, promotion of research in the area of corporate law, in particular, protection of minority shareholders' rights. Entries were submitted from October 15th to November 15th, 2011. Forty-eight law school students from all over Ukraine took part in the contest. The judging panel of the contest, who analyzed the papers submitted, included Iryna Marushko, Partner of Lavrynovych & Partners Law Firm, Olena Kibenko, a member of the Council of Experts on Corporate Governance under the Securities and Stock Market State Commission of Ukraine, and Stanislav Sereda, a member of the Board of the Students League.
