Master class for the Winners of the All-Russian Children Competition of SIFI took place at Osteria Bianca

The contest, which was attended by students from several regions of Russia, was organized by the “Journey to the Health” project of Social & Industrial Foodservice Institute (SIFI). The best work in English was presented by the children from Moscow: Luchik private school and health school #1959. The letters of the participants were published on the School Food Forum website and were sent to Jamie and Birke.

Jamie Oliver’s press center answered that Jamie looked through all the letters and found them very interesting, he thanked everyone for taking time to write him.

Birke Baehr personally responded to all contestants who won prizes and have written interesting letters. “Letters from children enlightened me a bit about the system of eating in Russia, — says Birke. — It would be interesting to know more about the structure of the Russian food system and methods of farming. I would like to thank the Social & Industrial Foodservice Institute for they reached out to next generation and me. I think that such events can significantly affect the number of children, who will think in the future about what they eat.”

After discussion of the letters, children personally cooked the fragrant multicolored soap, took part in quizzes, tasting and master class on cooking healthy and tasty pizzas from durum wheat performed by skilled and gracious Italian chef Giovanni. “I want to thank the organizers for such an interesting and useful event, — says Valentina Zabotkina, social teacher from school #1959. — I am glad that the children showed interest to the topic of healthy eating. In the response letter children invited Birke Baehr to Moscow. We hope that he will visit our school — we have a lot of things to show and to offer him, as our school is actively involved in international and charitable projects.”

The final chord of the event was elegantly served and perfectly delicious dinner from the chef Salvador and original dishes prepared according to the Jamie Oliver’s recipes.
