According to the WHO from 50 to 80 million women in the world suffer from infertility. In 1990 there were more than 20 thousand “test-tube children” on our planet. In 2013 there are about 5 million ones, which is equal to the population of a small country.
Extracorporal Fertilization, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) – is the most modern method of dealing with infertility today. Being arisen 40 years ago, IVF has developed from sensation to carefully verified and refined medical procedure. Brief information about the process is as follows: the woman’s egg is taken and fertilized outside her body under special conditions in so-called “test-tube” and it is injected into the woman’s uterus. Next step is the normal pregnancy and childbirth.
The main question that worries many infertile couples is – what factors successful IVF depend on. Igor Perelygin, the founder of this direction in Dnipropetrovsk, believes: “There are a lot of components of success. IVF gives 35-35% chance of getting pregnant from the first attempt. Almost like in the wild. Pregnancy rate depends on, first of all, the patients’ age, the infertility duration and complexity, the strict adherence to the complicated technology of extracorporal fertilization, i.e. the quality of healthy environment, the quality of active storage (consumables) and medicine, the woman’s mood, the relationship between a husband and a wife, the level of trust to the physicians…”
When you can see happy children’s faces, happy faces of their parents all doubts about the methods of assisted reproduction disappear by themselves.
